Classic Ski Boots are designed to be flexible in the forefoot so that you can roll up onto your toes and kick. You want the boots to fit very securely (like a running shoe) with plenty of room at the toe so that you don't come close to hitting the end of the boot. Fischer, Madshus, and Alpina boots have a single bar and are designed to fit NNN (New Nordic Norm) bindings. They will not fit old single bar Salomon Profil bindings. Salomon boots have 2 bars (Pilot System) at the toe, and will only fit Salomon bindings. You can use Salomon Pilot boots with older Profil bindings, but you can't use Profil boots with Pilot bindings. If you have questions, feel free to call or email us.
Skadi Boot Buddies will help keep snow from clogging up the bars on your boot before after after you ski. Now you no longer need to try to tap and dig out the ice just so you can step into your binding. The Boot Buddies extend beyond the toe aloowing for a firm grip for removal.
The Madshus Metis is designed on a female specific last for the skier who enjoys classic track skiing, it is made with a slightly stiffer heel counter than the Athena classic.
